Great Olympics held city rivals Hearts of Oak to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in the 2019 Homowo Cup today.

Both clubs provided a masterclass of performance but failed to find the net in the ninety minutes of the cagey encounter.
The Phobians opened the game with brilliant of display with Kwadwo Obeng Jnr and Kofi Kordzi coming close to the opener.
Kofi Kordzi who was brilliant to watch in the game, nearly had the opener in the 13th minute as he went for an amazing run but his final effort went off narrowly.

In just two minutes after Kordzi failed to get the Phobians the lead, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr also missed a sitter with just the goalkeeper to beat after some good works on the eight side by Kordzi.
Philip Sackey of Great Olympics had the first yellow card in the 30th minute for a bad play.
Former Hearts of Oak youth star Ahmed Tijani who currently play for Great Olympics came close to register the opener but his strike was beautifully saved by goalkeeper Richmond Ayi in the 36th minute of the game.

Hearts of Oak continued to pile pressure as Kofi Kordzi filed one towards goal but the Great Olympics goalkeeper scored full marks by keeping it out in the 45th minute.

The first half ended goalless even though Hearts of Oak created most of the chances.
Olympics begun the recess on a brighter note as Christopher Nettey missed the pole by some inches with his thunderbolt strike in the 56th minute.
In the 65th minute, injured Hearts of Oak’ Charles McCarthy was replaced by Aminu Alhassan whiles Ahmed Tijani went out for Ali Kadir for Olympics.
Great Olympics made their second substation as Ezekiel Tetteh went out for Stephen Okai in the 72nd minute of the match.

Kwadwo Obeng Jnr also went out in the 75th minute for Abubakur Traore whiles Great Olympics’ Roland Grippiman was replaced by Emmanuel Abbey in the 77nd minute.
Great Olympics made their final substitution as Liberty Nyabah was replaced by Obed Wiredu in the 88th minute.

The game eventually ended 0-0 after the ninety minutes and Kyfilla.con understands the re-match has been scheduled for next week to determine the winner of the 2019 Homowo Cup.
