Edmund Addo was one name that stuck out when Chris Hughton named his squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Given Addo’s little playing playing at the club level, there were questions about his inclusion.

Hughton responded to questions about Edmund Addo’s dearth of club playing time during a press conference.Chris Hughton believes Edmund Addo is a promising addition, underlining the value of having a well-balanced team with a mix of seasoned players and up-and-coming youngsters.
” With regards to Edmund Addo, he’s somebody that we like and somebody we value. We have to keep consistency in the team. There is a lot of choice and what I can’t afford to do is bring five or six new players into the squad. We have to get the right balance”Chris Hughton explained.
The Black Stars will take on Madagascar today at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and kickoff will be at 4pm.
