Chris Hughton revealed he spoke to Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi about switching allegiance to Ghana.
The two players have played for England at various levels. Hudson-Odoi has played at the senior level and has three caps for the Three Lions already. He has long been linked with Ghana despite playing for England.
He played for England at 18 years and 135 days old. That came in March 2019 against the Czech Republic, before playing twice more for the Three Lions.

Nketiah, on the other hand, is the all-time highest Under-21 goalscorer for England and has 16 goals in 17 appearances. Both could switch to Ghana after being snubbed by Gareth Southgate in recent years.
The Black Stars coach, Hughton, revealed he spoke to the English-born duo about switching nationalities.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Premier League boss said: “The issue is, and it is understandable, particularly for someone like myself who was born here. “I have an Irish mother and a Ghanaian father, and I chose to play for Ireland at that time.
“These are two players that have represented England in many underage teams. “So some of it is understandable. We have been in contact with them. “Not just in my time, I think before too. It is a process.
“But ultimately it will be about both of them making that decision to play, but we have had good dialogue with them.”
Having suffered an ACL injury that has ravaged both his first-team opportunities at club and national level, Hudson Odoi now appears set to sign for Fulham for a bargain price.
Nketiah, meanwhile, recently penned an exclusive contract worth £100,000-a-week at Arsenal and is seen as Mikel Arteta’s backup striker for Gabriel Jesus.
