Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, has stated that he has not spoken with Callum James Hudson-Odoi, a winger for Nottingham Forest, about potentially switching teams and playing for Ghana in the future.
Many rumors were circulating that Hudson-Odoi would be included in Ghana’s squad to play in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
However, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo disclosed that he had not spoken to the player during a press conference on Wednesday, May 29, to announce the squad.
“Talking about the future is difficult. I have not yet spoken with him. To be honest, my head is not there at all. I’m fully focused on Mali,” he said.
After the 2023–24 season ended, Hudson-Odoi had previously taken a vacation in Ghana, which added credence to the rumors.
Despite making just three appearances for England, the 23-year-old is eligible to represent Ghana by birth and can change his national team.
Hudson-Odoi had a successful rookie campaign, with Foriest contributing 10 goals in 35 games, including 8 goals in the Premier League.
The striker has therefore represented the Three Lions on all levels.
