Accra Hearts of Oak Head Coach, David Ocloo claimed he cannot be blamed for the recent run of bad results for the Phobians after losing 2-1 at home against Real Tamale United in the penultimate run of games in the Betpawa Premier League last Sunday.
Real Tamale United came from behind to beat MTN FA Cup holders Hearts of Oak 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium which resulted in the Phobia fans fingering Ocloo as the reason for their run of misfortunes.
Hearts of Oak have gone a run of four successive league defeats starting with a 3-2 away defeat to FC Samartex 1996, then followed an overwhelming 5-1 trashing at home to current league leaders, Medeama Sporting Club before losing to Legon Cities 1-0 at the ElWak Stadium and week 33 defeat to RTU.
The defeat have now placed the Phobians in a very difficult situation as they may have to either win or pick a point in their Week 34 Betpawa Premier League game against Berekum Chelsea this Sunday at the Golden City Park or be in danger of relegation.
Speaking after the game, the embattled coach who is under so much pressure following a run of bad results by his team in the GPL was left confused after the defeat,
“I feel bad, very bad, it unfortunate, I think we didn’t defend well in the second half especially our laterals, we gave them too much space to operate, we are now in a very difficult situation because of our position but this is football .They came to beat us here so we can also go out and win”
Responding to the fans agitations about his team’s poor run of results in the league
“They are right to be furious and say what ever they want but they shouldn’t forget that I inherited a depleted side so they should know how to talk.
He urged the supporters to back and continue supporting the team in this hard times as that is the only way to get the team back to it’s winning ways …
Hearts of oak will make a trip to Berekum this weekend to face Chelsea in the last run of matches in the 2022/23 BetPawa Ghana Premier League
