Kaizer Chiefs newly signed midfielder, James Kotei says he has joined the South African side to win more laurels.
According to the 26-year old who joined the Amakhosi lads on a three-year deal as a free agent, he managed to win the Tanzania Premier League and the FA Cup with Simba Sports Club at a time that they have not win anything for four years and he is willing to do same at Kaizer Chiefs.
“I feel bad that this massive club has not won trophies recently. I arrived in Tanzania in 2016, Simba had not won anything for four years, and we won the league and the FA Cup the same year. By the grace of God, I hope to win trophies and for Chiefs to return to winning ways”, Kotei said.
The former Liberty Professionals enforcer noted that, he is willing to fight for a slot in Kaizer Chiefs starting lineup despite the abundance of quality available.
“There is huge talent here at Chiefs,” notes Kotei. “I am impressed with the set up because we are a family here and I look forward to contributing. After the hectic season in Tanzania, I didn’t get a chance to rest. I must fight to get into the team. I am here to play my part and truly excited to be here.”
James Agyekum Kotei previously played for Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals before joining Al-Orouba in the Oman Professional League where he was scouted to play for Simba Sports Club in Tanzania.
