Founder of the leading opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings has revealed that he voted for his wife Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings in the 2016 elections and not John Mahama of the NDC.
In the 2016 polls, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was the flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP) whilst John Mahama was the NDC’s flagbearer.

Speaking to Kwaku-Sakyi Addo on Asaase Radio, the former President stated that, her wife deserved to have been the President of Ghana in 2016 and that’s why he voted for her and not John Mahama of the NDC.
“I would like to make a confusion actually, in 2016, I voted for her. Whether I’ll vote for her again or not, I’m not going to say it,” Rawlings said.

It would be recalled that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings contested for the NDC presidential primaries but lost the ticket to John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills (late) at the Sunyani ‘FONKAR-GAME’ congress in July 2011.
She then left the NDC andwent ahead to form National Democratic Party (NDP) in October 2012.
