The newly elected member of parliament for Sekondi Hon. Blay Nyameke Armah has stir reaction as he intends to seek permission from the president to relocate the statue of former president Nana Akuffo Addo to Kyebi, his hometown.
The statue brought disappointment from Sekondi-Takoradi residents when it was erected and inaugurated by the outgoing president. People were questioning what exactly the president has done for the region that he has erected the statue.
The residents also lamented about stalled projects that the president couldn’t finish such as the Interchange, the Market and various roads that are under construction.
All the above instances got people livid when the left leg of the statue was vandalized after President Mahama won the election, though the broken leg was quickly restored.
Prior to this, the newly elected member of parliament Mr. Blay Armah is willing to seek permission from the president to relocate the statue of the former president to his hometown in Kyebi in the Eastern Region since he don’t need it in his constituency.
