Abdul Rahim Bashiru, the interim coach of Hearts of Oak, has appealed on the club’s leadership to give him some time to turn things around because he believes he can lead the team.
The Phobians just hired the former coach of Legon Cities as their head coach after firing Dutch coach Martin Koopman due to poor performance.
Hearts Of Oak under coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru’s management for the first time surprised Accra Lions last Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium by picking up all three points against them.
Speaking to the media, Bashiru claimed that with the experience he has gained thus far in his career, he is qualified and capable of coaching Hearts of Oak.
“Of course, I have the capability to lead Hearts of Oak. I have UEFA license B and CAF license A certificates. I have worked with Great Olympics and Legon Cities. I have also coached three Division One clubs.So I have the capability to coach Hearts of Oak. Sometimes, you just need the opportunity and I hope the big men of Hearts of Oak will see that and give me a little time to see if I can move the club up” Coach Bashiru explained.
Hearts of Oak are now 9th on the Betpawa Ghana Premier League table with 15 points after 11 games.
Hearts of Oak have just relocated its home games to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium due to the temporary closure of the Accra Sports Stadium which will be done in December to pave way for other activities.
