Iñaki Williams, a striker for the Ghana Black Stars, has posted some cryptic remarks on his social media page following the team’s elimination from the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, even though he scored and assisted against FC Barcelona yesterday.
Following his nationality switch to play for Ghana, the Ghanaian striker has had a difficult time. After his back pass resulted in Egypt’s first goal, he was made fun of and called all kinds of derogatory names.
Following his late-game introduction against Mozambique which many touted as a confidence killer, Inaki Williams bounced back in strong style and got on the scoreboard for his team within 24 hours, helping his younger brother Nico score as they crushed Barcelona 4-2 in the Copa del Rey match. He stated in his post,
A door closed, and a window opened. Reality surpasses fiction, and reality is reality. Thank you, Lord. Day of Glory.
Inaki Williams was obviously relieved and elated especially after his teammates all rushed to hug and cheer him on.
