Evelyn Nsiah-Asare, board member of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko has encouraged women to celebrate their accomplishments and continue to pursue for positions in leadership.
According to the popular Ghanaian female football administrator and staunch gender-equality enthusiast, women can play a major role in shifting the world onto a path of sustainable and prosperous development hence the need to take delight in some leadership positions.
In a post commemorating this year’s international women’s day, Evelyn Nsiah-Asare said, “the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of benchmarks for major actions that, by 2030, will create a world that is stronger, healthier, and more equitable.
“We believe that SDG 5 is essential to achieving all other SDGs and shifting the world onto a path of sustainable and prosperous development, as women and girls constitute more than fifty percent of the world’s population.”
Mrs Nsiah-Asare who is also a University lecturer added that,”as we celebrate women today, I encourage girls and women to celebrate their accomplishments, empower one another, and continue to fight for gender equality, as well as to pursue positions of leadership.
“It is believed that when women work together, they can overcome any obstacle and grow stronger. I wish all women Hapoy International Day.”

This year’s International Women’s Day is expected to focus on the priority theme for the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women which is “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.
This year’s theme is christened as DigitALL; Innovation and technology for gender equality.
