WBO Super bantamweight champion, Emmanuel Navarrete will come face-to-face against Ghanaian boxer Isaac “The Royal Storm” Dogboe in a rematch on May 11, 2019.
The much anticipated rematch bout is scheduled to take place in the spring in California, Kyfilla.com has learnt.
Navarrete (26-1,22KO) entangled Dogboe on December 8 last year to win the 122 pound title from the hands of the Ghanaian in New York. The Mexican fighter won on scores of 115-113, 116-112, and 116-112 to take the belt.
The Mexican prior to the first bout with Dogboe was tagged as the underdog because he had never fight at the top level before, but eventually proved his power by ending the breakout of the high-flying Dogboe on a sour note.
Dogboe had a fruitful 2018 with a win over Cesar Juarez in Accra, and went ahead to win the WBO berth from the hands of Jessie Magdaleno in the United States in April. He made a defense in August, stopping Hidenori Otake in the first round, before the loss to Navarrete.
