Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Charles Kwablah Akonnor has cried over his outfit inability to purchase new players to beef up squad for the Normalization Committee Special Competition.
The Porcupines released six players due to ineffective performance but failed to sign new ones to strengthen the team for the Special Competition.
Akonnor believes the failure on the part of Asante Kotoko Management to get new players to beef up his squad would be a problem for him during the competition.
” It’s unfortunate Kotoko can’t sign players to beef up the squad ahead of the special competition after sacking some of the players and it’s will be a problem for me”, he told Light FM.
He however concluded that his side have to do well in the Special Competition in order to get back to the CAF inter-club competition next season.
” We have to do our best in the Special Competition and qualify for CAF inter-club competition next season.
Asante Kotoko will wrestle with Medeama SC, Ashantigold SC and Aduana Stars in the group stages of the NC Special Competition.
