Months after leaving prison, Vybz Kartel has proposed to his long-time partner, Sidem, for the second time.
The dancehall artiste pulled the romantic surprise at a lavish hotel, leaving Sidem speechless.
Kartel proposed to his partner for the first time in 2022 while still in prison.
In 2011, Vybz Kartel was voted the most popular Dancehall artist in the world, beating the likes of Beenie Man among other notable names in the industry.
In 2013, he was declared by the government of Jamaica as a public enemy number one not only because of the lyrics but being linked to dangerous gangs across the country.
He ended in prison because of the murder of his long time associate and partner Clive ” Lizard” Williams, an incident which allegedly happened in 2011. Kartel had given his boys illegal guns to use to “protect” him but two of them, Clive and Chow couldn’t return theirs.
After several futile attempts to get the guns back, Lizard and Chow were summoned to Kartel’s house where there was a confrontation between them and Kartel’s other loyal cronies.
It was alleged that if you were Kartel’s enemy and he convinced you to visit his house, you won’t leave alive.
Chow managed to get away, later becoming the Prosecution’s star witness, but Lizard was bludgeoned to death. To get away with the evidence, it is alleged that they turned Clive’s body to minced meat. This was confirmed by a text message Kartel sent to a friend confirming that they minced him and his body won’t be found.
Till today, Clive’s body is yet to found.
