Ghanaian striker Joel Fameyeh says he is open to acquiring a Russian Nationality.
Fameyeh, who was born in Ghana and has played for Ghanaian teams Wa All Stars and Asokwa Deportivo, says he is open to receiving a Russian passport.
“If they give me a Russian passport, I am ready to accept it,” he told Match TV
Fameyeh has not had many opportunities to play for Ghana despite having a decent goal scoring record.
In a June 2021 international friendly match against Morocco, he made his Black Stars debut, but he hasn’t played since.
Meanwhile, Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton says he has been in talks with Eddie Nketiah and Callum Hudson-Odoi over a possible nationality switch.
Both players were born in England but trace their ancestry to Ghana due to their parents, have been on the radar of the Ghana FA for years.
Last year, Ghana managed to get Inaki Williams and Tariq Lamptey to play for Ghana at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Joel Fameyeh could be one of the many Ghanaian players who have switched nationality to play for other countries.
