The National Democratic Congress parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, donated motorbikes and street lights to the Security Department of the University of Ghana, Legon, on Tuesday, May 28.
On Wednesday, May 29, Mr. Dumelo shared on social media his hope that his efforts would aid in the fight against small-time theft and phone snatching on the UPSA and Legon campuses.
He emphasized the importance of student security and protecting their property.
Mr. Dumelo stated that he is committed to supporting measures that improve campus security and the overall safety environment, emphasizing that ensuring student safety is a top priority for him.
“Yesterday, I presented 2 brand new motorcycles and street lights to the security department of the University of Ghana. To help them combat phone snatching and small-time theft on the Legon and UPSA campuses, I hope that they will accept this kind gesture. The students need to be protected,” he stated.
Since he began pursuing politics, the former actor and alumnus has been involved in various charitable endeavors.
