John Paintsil, the assistant coach for the Ghana Black Stars, is suing Saddick Adams, Multimedia, Coach Nimley, Angel Network, and other journalists for their remarks regarding his hiring as the Black Stars’ assistant coach.
After coach Otoo Adoo chose the retired football player and former Ghana Blacksrats defender to be his assistant, he was ridiculed online, on radio, and on television.
Paintsil, an accomplished defender, has started for the Black Stars in three FIFA World Cups. Thus, 2006, 2010, and 2014.
Many Ghanaians were not excited after Otoo Ado named him as his assistant. A lot of sports journalists and the general public weren’t happy since he didn’t have any experience managing any of our national teams.
After Kaizer Chiefs defeated longtime rivals Orlando Pirates 2-0 to win the league in South Africa, Paintsul, an assistant coach, took home his first trophy as a manager.
Even the idea that he faked a coaching license to get hired by the Blackstars was made fun of. The unfair treatment the former player received was the main reason why that triggered the legal action he has taken.
John Paintsil was named alongside Joseph Laumann and Fatau Dauda. His previous employers include Berekum Arsenal, Liberty Professionals, West Ham United, Fulham, Leicester City, Santos, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Maritzburg United.
