Former Ghana international, Prince Tagoe has called for goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot to be in posts when Ghana face Nigeria in 2022 World Cup playoff.
To Prince Tagoe, the Swindon Town shot-stopper is currently the best goalkeeper Ghana has and must be in between the sticks for the Nigeria duel.
Wollacot has been under huge criticisms after Black Stars abysmal performance at the AFCON 2021 where the West African country failed to progress from a group of Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
Even though Richard Ofori has returned to the Black Stars squad after a long-term injury, Prince Tagoe believes Jojo Wollacot has been exceptional in the posts for the Black Stars and must be given a starting berth in the Nigeria games.
“I support the decision to keep with in Wollacot. To me he’s the best goalkeeper we have now. Some of the saves he made in the qualifiers were so clear he’s a goalkeeper with great potential if we can have the patience to polish him,” Tagoe said on Angel TV.
The Black Stars will commence training in Kumasi on Monday and will be lodging at the Noda Hotel.
The team is in Kumasi to the continue preparations for the first leg tie which takes place on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
