The Member of Parliament for Jomoro constituency, Dorcas Affo-Toffey has donated hundred dual and mono desks to Nana Avo-Nwiah Basic School in the constituency.
According to the legislator, she made the donation when she visited the school and witnessed pupils sitting on the floor to study.[ads2]
With the farewell of children at heart, Hon. Affo-Toffey said she got heartbroken having seen that in addition to the structure under which they school.
She then vowed on that day to do her best to help reposition the school to relieve pupils of the harsh conditions under which they study.[ads3]
The donation of the hundred pieces of desks is therefore the first step she has taken since its provision was deemed urgent.
Aside from the desks, she is also constructing a 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the school with land for the project alter acquired and preliminary works have already started.[ads4]
She however appealed for support towards the construction of the six-unit classroom block
The Nana Avo-Nwiah Basic School since its conversion to a public school, has been involved in two Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in 2019 and 2020.[ads5]
