Leicester City have officially completed the signing of Ghanaian forward Jordan Ayew.
The versatile Ghanaian forward’s transfer was formally announced by Leicester City on Friday.
Ayew will join Leicester on a two-year contract from Crystal Palace.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian international has made 212 appearances for Crystal Palace in all competitions. He has participated in two FIFA World Cups and six Africa Cup of Nations matches.
Jordan Ayew started his professional career with Olympique de Marseille, where he made his debut with a goal in a 2-1 victory over FC Lorient.
In 111 league games, he scored 14 goals for the team. He briefly played for Sochaux and Lorient before joining Aston Villa in 2015, where he finished the 2015/2016 campaign as their top scorer.
Ayew joined Swansea City in January 2017, where he made 50 appearances and scored 8 goals. In 2018/2019, he played on loan for Crystal Palace before agreeing to a three-year contract that would keep him there permanently.
Ayew received Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, and Goal of the Season honours during Palace’s end-of-season celebration in 2019/2020. In all, Jordan Ayew contributed 23 goals and 22 assists to Crystal Palace’s course.
“I’m very happy to be here and I’m proud. I want to thank the club as they fought hard to bring me here – it happened quickly and I’m so happy to be here,” Ayew said after his official transfer announcement.
“As a player, when you hear that the manager wants you, it just makes you want to come and work under him and to try to improve. Even though I’m 32, as a player you always want to learn and improve. I’m here to work hard and help the team achieve their targets.” he added.
