Jude Bellingham, the Real Madrid and England star, will not face a suspension for his actions during England’s 2-1 victory over Slovakia at Euro 2024.
UEFA initiated an investigation into the matter, but it seems a financial penalty is more probable.
Following his goal celebration with the fans, Bellingham was heading back to midfield when he blew a kiss and then made a gesture toward his genital, seemingly directed at the Slovakia bench.
Bellingham later explained that these actions were part of an inside joke with his friends, but this didn’t deter UEFA from stepping in. According to BILD, Bellingham will avoid a match ban and will instead receive a five-figure fine.
This financial penalty is unlikely to significantly impact Bellingham’s finances, considering his annual earnings are estimated to be between €10-12 million.
The 21-year-old is known for his confrontational nature and his tendency to challenge perceived injustices, and this incident is unlikely to alter his demeanor.
