The 2020 edition of the Tadifest, organized by Takoradi-based radio station Empire FM has been suspended.
This was contained in a release from the management of Empire FM signed by the head of Business Mr. Enoch Asare, stating that the decision has been taken due to the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the country.

The statement reads, “Management of Takoradi based Empire 102.7fm regrets to announce to the general public especially masquerade groups in the Western Region, the suspension of this year’s TADIFEST”

“This decision follows reports and incidence of rising numbers of
COVID-19 cases. While Empire Fm concedes that Sekondi-Takoradi and its environs has for the past years become the destination for Christmas for many
Ghanaians, home and abroad it also believes the health and safety of residents must be protected”

“The station therefore is advising all and sundry especially themasquerade groups to continue to observe the stated COVID-19 protocols strictly.This too shall surely pass to pave the way for subsequent TadiFest to be held without any fear of contraction of any disease.”
