Ghanaian music duo Keche have expressed their full support for the “Sekondi-Takoradi deserves better” demonstration and has called out Western Regional Minister, Honorable Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah to retract his comments.
According to the sensational music group,the twin city needs to develop and there was every need for the conveners who took to the streets on Friday, 28th October 2023 to demonstrate and put before authorities their concerns including the demand for good roads, infrastructure, street lighting, policies focused on revival of the local economy, completion of abandoned projects and creation of sustainable jobs for the youth.
While expressing their disagreement with the comments of the Regional Minister who described the demonstration as a joke, the music group pledged to add their support and influence to the next demonstration.
“We support the Sekondi-Takoradi deserves better Takoradi doesn’t look attractive like before so we have the right to demonstrate. We don’t support the comments of the Regional Minister and he needs to retract them.” the group stated.
“We are sorry for not influencing the demonstration,we got to know about it very late.We are ready to represent the next demonstration “they added.
The conveners of the “Sekondi-Takoradi deserves better” demonstration are set to demonstrate again as they failed to accomplish their main goal of submitting a petition to the Regional Minister.
