Head coach of the Black Galaxies, Mas’Ud Didi Dramani has invited 96 home-based players in four different batches to report for screening starting Monday July 17, 2023 at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram.

The call up is made up of players from the BetPawa Premier League and Access Bank Division One League with Bechem Utd having majority of players called by Coach Didi Dramani.

The GFA has appointed the Black Stars Assistant Coach to replace Annor Walker Who led the the local-based team to the quarterfinals of the 2023 CHAN Championship in Algeria earlier this year.

Since Announcing the list of 96 players from the local scene who will go through series of screening for the final list of players to be named, a lot of football pundits and Ghanaians have expressed their shock and disbelief about some notable names who performed creditably well for their clubs in both the GPL and DOL.
Notable among this players is Hearts of Oak target Kelvin Osei Asibey , who captained Techiman Eleven Wonders to a Zone one playoff final game against Bofoakwa Tano at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The tall center back was in a blistering form for his side after playing 25 out of the total 30 games in the Division One Zone 1 , he was awarded with 7 MVPs, scoring 2 goals and making 3 assists with 1 yellow card and no red card received as a Center back throughout the whole season..
Osei Asibey is touted as one of the best and promising Center backs in the local league and a lot of football loving Ghanaians finds it strange as why the Black Galaxies head forgot to include such a talent in his his maiden call up for the Black Galaxies team who had a lot defensive issues when they last played at the CHAN tournament in Algeria.
There have also been issues raised about the absence of some players in the squad with names like Hearts of Oak’s Yaw Amankwah Barfi, Medeama Sc’s Manuel Mantey , and Berekum Chelsea’s defendable Goalkeeper Gregory Obeng Sekyere also missing from the squad..
