A 6th-year KNUST Doctor of Optometry student from Cape Coast, Doreen Tachie-Donkor has gained recognition for correcting Accommodative Esotropia, popularly known in Ghana as “Alukumi” or “enyikyew” in Fantse, a condition where one or both eyes turn inward (strabismus) due to accommodation, alongside a team of senior optometrists.
Doreen represented Fijai Secondary School in the National Science And Maths Quiz in her high school days and also won the best Female BECE Student in her region.
