Former Black Stars forward Charles Taylor has supported the Executive Council proposal to extend the stay of the president of the Association to three terms in discussion on Thursday.
The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has held series of meetings with the various groups belonging to the association expounding on the need to extend the period of the President of the Association.
It has come out after the meetings that one of the proposals is to extend the terms of the president of the GFA to three.
While many Ghanaians and pundits alike have objected to the idea, Taylor who has been a regular critic of the current administration believes Kurt Okraku will need even more than the three terms to achieve all his targets as the FA boss.
“I agree with the GFA Exco on extending the term of office of the GFA President,” he told Angel FM.
“I think Kurt Okraku for instance needs 16 years to complete all the projects he has started. He can hand over to those who are interested after the 16 years.”
Meanwhile, the first term of Okraku will end in October with an election expected to be conducted to either maintain him or elect another leader.
Bernard Amofa Jantuah the CEO of Berekum Chelsea as well as former Western Regional Football Association Chairman are the notable individuals to have declared their intentions to contest the office of the president.
The FA is however yet to release the roadmap for the next elections.
