The enterprising football administrator beat off competitions from the other aspirants to become the new Ghana Football Association boss.

The elections held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons Centre in Accra today went to a third round, before George Afriyie conceded a defeat.

The first round of the elections saw Kurt Okraku on the lead with 44 votes out of the 115 votes casted, whiles George Afriyie pulled 40.
Great Olympics director Fred Pappoe accumulated 6 votes with Nana Yaw Amponsah bagging 27 votes whiles Amanda Clinton and George Ankomah Mensah failed to get even a single vote.
None of the candidates had the 50+1 percent and had to go for a second round to determine winner.

George Ankomah Mensah and Amanda Clinton were disqualified from contesting in the second round of the elections with Fred Pappoe pulling out.
The second round of the elections was between Kurt Okraku, George Afriyie and Nana Yaw Amponsah.
At the end of the second round, Kurt Okraku pulled 59 votes whiles George Afriyie annexed 43 votes with Nana Yaw Amponsah accumulating just 16 votes.

This means that Kurt Okraku had 50% whiles George Afriyie had 36.1% with Nana Yaw Amponsah having 13.4%.
Once again none of the candidates reached the 50+1 percent and needed to go for a third round, this time between George Afriyie and Kurt Okraku.

The Okyeman Planners bankroller, George Afriyie conceded a defeat and Kurt Okraku had to be declared the winner of the elections.
Even though, George Afriyie conceded defeat, Kurt Okraku had to get the 50+1 percent, and had to stand alone in the third round. He pulled a whooping 93 votes which is 96.9% to win the enviable seat.
