Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lil Win, has been arrested by the Manhyia Divisional Police Command’s Motor Traffic and Transport Department after he was discharged from the hospital following a recent accident he was involved in at Amakom.
A three-year-old youngster who died the accident involving the car he was driving is the reason for his arrest. After the unfortunate tragedy, the deceased’s family became more vocal in their demands for justice.
Hours after the accident at Amakom in Kumasi on Saturday, May 25, Richard Nana Yaw Ampomah reportedly passed away while undergoing treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital when his father’s car crashed with LilWin’s Mercedes-Benz.
It is said that Nana Yaw was sitting in the front passenger seat. According to witnesses, the actor was driving his vehicle at maximum speed when it crashed.
The three-year-old child has been laid to rest by his grieving family, while his father, Jacob Ampomah, is still receiving treatment at the hospital after suffering a fractured leg.
In a statement made public last week, Lil Win disputed claims made by the deceased’s family that he ignored the accident victims and went to his movie premiere the day after the event. The night of the accident, the actor showed up for the film’s premiere despite his injuries.
He later expressed regret to the grieving family for his “insensitive comment” and rescheduled the release of his film Sunyani so that he could spend more time with them.
