Renowned sportscaster, Oti Asirifi Mensah Joseph affectionately called “The Apostle” has chosen Kyfilla.com CEO Stephen Kwame Yeboah as the best sportscaster in the Western Region for the last ten years.
Oti Asirifi Mensah was speaking in relation to Kwame Yeboah’s appointment onto the Western Regional branch of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG).
Speaking on Sekondi-based Radio Silver [online radio station], Oti Asirifi Mensah who is the Secretary of the SWAG branch in the region, believes the newly inaugurated executives have the capability and the credentials of leading the association to become the best in the country.[ads2]
“For me all the newly inaugurated executives have what it takes to lead the association…. They are capable of leading the association to become one of the best.. Someone like Kwame Yeboah, for me is the best sportscaster in the Western Region for the last ten years”, Oti Asirifi Mensah said on Radio Silver.
It would be recalled that on Saturday, September 6, 2020 the President of SWAG and seasonal sportscaster Kwabena Yeboah and his executives inaugurated a ten-member committee as the Western Regional branch of the association’s executives.[ads3]
The ten-member committee will be serving on interim basis for the next two years before a new election is conducted to elect substantive executives for a four-year term.
Ace sportscaster, Kuntu Blankson will serve as the chairman with Ekow Essilfie as the vice.
Oti Asirifi Mensah Joseph was named the Secretary of the association with Mr. Kweku Sagoe as his assistant.
Stephen Kwame Yeboah, a renowned and a respected sportscaster in the Western Region was named the organizer, Amy Fynn-Thompson is in charge of welfare while Samuel Osei Bediako (JM Ceaser] will serve as the treasurer with Kyei Baffour, Omar Sanda Salifu, James Kojo Bawa Anderson as members.[ads4]
The move by SWAG is to bring all practicing sports journalists across the country under one umbrella with one voice.
Meanwhile, Stephen Kwame Yeboah has about sixteen years of experience as a broadcaster, having worked with stations like Kyzz FM, Skyy Power FM/Starr TV and Radio Silver.
He is a graduate from the Takoradi Technical University with a Bachelor of Technology in lndustrial Art and currently offering MSc. in Management and Human Resource Strategy at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Kwame Yeboah affectionately called KY, served as Media Relations Officer for then Division two League side Rospak SC and was part of the Publicity Committee for Medeama Sporting Club in their maiden CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Kwame Yeboah has a good eye for spotting football talents with Maxwell Baakoh and Matthew Kelvin Andoh of Asante Kotoko, Daniel Amoah of Azam FC in Tanzania and Prince Acquah as an example
He has covered major FIFA and CAF tournaments including the just ended 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. He is very respectful and a role model for many.
Kwame Yeboah is also the vice chairman of the Western Regional Football Association media committee..
