Last season’ southern zone champions, Ladystrikers have unveiled four new players ahead of Season 6 of the National Women’s league (NWL).
The four new players are Veronica Appiah and Mabel Baffoe Eshun, both from Hasaacas Ladies, Gifty Addai Boakye from NWL debutants, Supreme Ladies and Faustina Owusu Nyamekye from former NWL side, Subayo Golden Ladies at Obuasi.
The Cape Coast-based club will for the second season running, be coached by Rashid Tijani Iddi and assisted by Louisa Baaba Cornelious. In a brief ceremony to unveil the players,club president Dr Kojo Benjamin Taylor stated: “a lot have been learnt from the final play-off loss, so recruitment has been strategically made to address our short falls and we are now poised towards achieving our target of annexing the NWL championship and the Sanford Women’s FA Cup this season.”
The southern zone champions are set to begin their title defence with a home game against Samaria Ladies on the weekend of April 7 and 8.
