English Championship side Leicester City has activated the €17 million buyout option for winger Fatawu Issahaku.
The Ghanaian international, who is on loan from Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, has had a spectacular season with the foxes.
With 13 league assists for Leicester, Fatawu is the second-leading assist provider for the team, trailing only Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Ruben Amorim, the manager of Sporting Lisbon, confirmed the impending agreement.
In 2022, Sporting acquired Fatawu from Steadfast FC, a Ghanaian team.
But his time at the team wasn’t what either of them had hoped for, and at the beginning of the 2023/2024 season, he was loaned to Leicester.
After being demoted to the Championship following the 2022/2023 season, Leicester secured their return to the Premier League at the first opportunity.
