Rapper M.anifest and Dancehall artist Stonebwoy are the only Ghanaian names listed among several other star-studded Nigerian artists snapped up by MTV Base Africa, Idris Elba, ViacomCBS Network Africa and YouTube for the charity concert dubbed Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home.
Idris Elba, ViacomCBS Network Africa and YouTube have teamed up to raise funds from a virtual concert which the proceeds will be channeled into assisting families who are in dire need in this era of COVID–19 Pandemic.
“Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home” is staged for Monday, May 25, 2020 with almost all A-classed artists on the continent featured.

Idris Elba will host the artists who will be performing from their various homes with all proceeds raised from the benefit concert campaign channeled into buying food and other essential needs for needy families on the continent.

The 2–hour long event will be broadcasted and streamed across the world for millions of viewers; MTV channels and on the MTV Base Africa YouTube channel.
Ghana’s God MC[M.anifest] who has recently released No Long Talk and We No Dey Hear together with Stonebwoy who’s currently pushing his brand new album Anloga Junction will be joined by other stars studded nationals drafting into this first of its kind virtual concert.

The event has also listed; Burna Boy, Sho Madjozi, AKA, Diamond Platnumz, Sauti Sol, Yemi Alade, Fally Ipupa, Stonebwoy, Teni, Angelique Kidjo, and many more.
Idris Elba talked about how he intend to push the event and raise benefits for the goals of assisting the needy on the continent.
Idris Elba says, “Taking a moment to shine a light on African arts to benefit the African homeland and its people. A continent of this size should find a way to dig deep and stand up for one another at a time like this. It’s important for the future and history will not forget.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of many and disrupted economic activity which has increased the threat to food and health security on the continent. All donated proceeds will be funnelled towards tackling this humanitarian crisis.
