Thursday, December 28, 2023, saw the brutal murder of a woman, identified as Esinam Vivian, a mother of two, at her pub in Amasaman Three Junction, Accra, by her ex-husband.
Esinam Vivian had legally separated from her ex-husband due to constant threats and abuse. On Thursday, at around 2:00 p.m., her ex-husband entered the pub with a pistol in his hand and shot her three times before turning the gun on himself.
Disturbing videos from the incident depict the deceased woman lying in a pool of blood, while another video shows the ex-husband struggling for his life, surrounded by police officers who responded to the scene.
It is unknown what became of the ex-husband after he was taken away by the police. The court had dissolved the marriage between the deceased and her killer, who shared two children, following an application by the deceased.
