The Black Queens of Ghana have beaten South Africa’s Bayana Bayana in a friendly today 11th November, 2018 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Experienced Samira Suleman only strike in the first half of the encounter gave the Queens victory over South Africans.
Coach Bashiru Hayford’ side hosted the South Africa Senior Women’s national team in a friendly as a preparatory match ahead of the AWCON which will be hosted in Ghana.
Ghana ended the first half of the encounter leading by a goal to nil courtesy a brilliant strike from Samira Suleman.
The South African side came back strong to get the equalizer and probably the winner but all efforts went fruitless due to the well composed defense of the Black Queens.
The game ended by 1:0 in favor of the Black Queens at the Accra Sports Stadium with a dazzling performance from Samira Suleman and Faustina Ampah.
Meanwhile, Ghana have been drawn in group A of the upcoming AWCON and will play the opening match with Algeria whereas Cameroon face Mali in the same group.
South Africa on the other hand will lock horns with tournament favorite Nigeria in their opening game whereas Equitorial Giunea meet Zambia in group B at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on November 17 and end on December 1, 2018.
