After two and a half years with Dundee United Football Club, Mathew Anim Cudjoe is leaving the newly promoted Scottish Premier League team.
The club announced Cudjoe’s departure on their website on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. Cudjoe, who joined the Scottish side in 2022, has been a valuable asset to the team.
While not a consistent starter, he demonstrated a strong competitive spirit during his two years with the club.
After lengthy negotiations with his representatives, Dundee United failed to reach an agreement with the player on a contract extension. He has decided to decline the offer and will become a free agent this summer.
The club’s website released a statement saying “We can confirm Mathew Cudjoe has decided to call time on his Tannadice career. The club made an offer which reflected our vision for Mathew in both financial and footballing terms however the Ghanaian has decided to pursue his career elsewhere,” the statement read.
Cudjoe’s outstanding performance, including four goals and two assists, played a crucial role in Dundee United’s league victory and subsequent promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
He further contributed to the team’s success with an impressive five goals in 46 appearances throughout the season.
