Winners of the 2022/2023 BetPawa Premier League Medeama Sporting Club on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 made a trophy presentation to the Western Regional Minister, Honorable Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah at the Regional Coordinating Council.
The Tarkwa-based side was led by the President of the Club, Moses Armah ‘Parker’, the head of the technical team, Evans Augustine Adotey and the players to make a presentation of the trophy and medals to the Member of Parliament of the Takoradi Constituency, Kobby Okyere Darko Mensah.
Medeama Sporting Club put 3-0 past Tamale City FC on the final day of the BetPawa Premier League at the Akoon Park to bring an end to a 47-year wait since Sekondi Hasaacas FC won the title as Western Region club.
The victory means Medeama Sporting Club will compete in the upcoming 2023/2024 Confederation of African Football Champions League. The team had previously competed in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2013 and 2015 for winning the MTN FA Cup.
“It is difficult to win this trophy, and we’ve come to realize the records in Western Region is not that pleasing so we tried to make changes. And we are very much appreciative of the support you’ve given us throughout our campaign so we bring this trophy to you as a token of our appreciation” – President Moses Armah said.
