The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fined Medeama Sporting Club a whopping GH¢6000 for fielding an unqualified player in their Premier League game against Great Olympics.

Great Olympics have been declared winners of their protest against Medeama in respect of their matchday 12 game played at the Akoon park in Tarkwa.
In a protest filed after the match, Great Olympics claimed that Medeama fielded an unqualified player in the said match.
In a protest filed by Great Olympics states that, Medeama SC fielded an unqualified player (Nana Kofi Babil) due to three accumulated yellow cards.

Babil was therefore not eligible to have played the match due to the three cautions he had in three Premier League matches.
After careful deliberations, the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA have declared Medeama Sporting losers of the said match and fined GH¢ 5000 of which 50% of the money will go to the account of Great Olympics.

Also, Medeama Sporting Club have been slapped with additional GH¢1000 as Great Olympics transportation expenses.
The two clubs have been given 24 hours to file for an appeal if they are not satisfied with the Disciplinary Committee ruling.
