Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach C.K Akunnor has confessed that Medeama Sporting Club gave his outfit a good run for their money.
The Porcupine Warriors climaxed their 10 days camping in Takoradi with a friendly encounter against Medeama on Wednesday 14th November, 2018 at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.
Emmanuel Gyamfi had the opener for Kotoko but Ibrahim Laryea’s late strike gave Medeama the equalizer.
In an interview with the press after the titanic encounter, Akunnor hinted that, Medeama have a a formidable team that can beat any other team in the country and however, gave his outfit a very good test.
“Medeama is a good team that’s why I even chose to play with them.
“They gave my side a good test and it’s good for us as we prepare for Africa”.
Kotoko will return to Kumasi on Friday 16th November, 2018 to continue their preparations and even play Togolese giant Koroki De Tchamba in an international friendly on Sunday 18th November, 2018 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Kumasi based team will face the yet-to-be decided winner of the Cameroon FA Cup in the prelims of the CAF Confederation Cup on November 28, 2018 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before they travelled to Cameroon for the return leg on the following week.
