Medeama Sporting Club will be honored as the Sports Achievers of the Year by Takoradi Technical University for their victory in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
This recognition is a significant achievement and was decided upon during a meeting of the Sports Committee of the University on June 23, 2023.
Medeama Sporting Club has had an impressive record, having won the FA Cup twice, finished in the top four of the Ghana Premier League twice, represented Ghana twice in the CAF Confederation Cup, and now becoming the champions of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
This triumph is particularly special for the region, as it breaks a long drought since the last championship won by Sekondi Hasaacas in 1977.

The recognition from Takoradi Technical University will not only honor Medeama Sporting Club but also inspire and boost their morale for the upcoming African Championship. Mr. Joseph Danso, the Chairman of the Sports Committee, believes that this award will bring greater tidings to the region and aligns with the university’s vision of excellence, innovation, and societal relevance.
In addition to honoring Medeama Sporting Club, Takoradi Technical University will also hold its maiden Annual Sports Awards on August 5, 2023. The awards will include categories such as Personality of the Year (Men and Women), Team of the Year, Athlete of the Year, Footballer of the Year, Basketball Player of the Year, and more.
