[ads1]The Group Chief Executive Officer of Media General, Mrs.Beatrice Agyemang Abbey has been awarded at the fifth edition of the Glitz Ghana Women of the Year Honours.
The astute broadcaster and business leader was honoured for her Excellency in media at the event held at the plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The event hosted by bilingual broadcaster Anita Erskine recognizes women in various industries who use their position, expertise, and influence to inspire others to make a difference while empowering other men.[ads2]
Beatrice Agyemang who has close to two decades of experience in the broadcasting industry was honoured alongside some other female personalities like Berla Mundi, Nana Ama McBrown and host of others.
Mrs. Abbey who was named the CEO of Media General in September, 2018 succeeding Pearl Esua-Mensah after serving as the Managing News Editor at the Ghanaian media firm.
She begun her media career with TV3 as a Broadcast Journalist and News Anchor rising through the ranks to become Managing News Editor and later as Chief Operating Officer of TV3.[ads3]
Beatrice prior to her appointment has acted in several leadership roles within the Group including Head of MG Digital and GM for MG Radio. Her years of service and leadership makes her a suitable candidate as Beatrice brings to her new role a deep understanding of the media business and her exceptional leadership skills.[ads4]
