Bankroller of Future Stars – a Division Two side in the Western region, Mustapha Fudail known in the football circles as Mustapha Capito has waded in the argument that most Ghanaian players are ungrateful.
According to the former King Faisal captain, most of the players that he helped to secure contracts abroad have abandoned him after making it ‘big’ outside.
Capito who started playing football with former Black Stars forward Nii Odartey Lamptey in the same Colt club in Kumasi, disclosed exclusively to Kyfilla.com that, what those players did nearly made him to stop investing into football with the mindset that he will be abandoned just like what the others have done.
“It’s true that most Ghanaian players are ungrateful and I have suffered such ingrate attitude from some players I helped to secure contracts abroad before. Some have not even contact me to see how am faring after many years.
” Yes, two or three guys have been in contact with me but the rest I even accommodated and used all my monies to make sure they secure a contracts abroad have totally abandoned me after all the sweat to help them be successful in life.
” Am okay in life and don’t rely on players to survive but at least a phone call would have been nice. Those attitudes nearly made me to stop doing football but what kept me holding, is the passion and love to help the younger ones to attain a certain height in football.
“It’s a habit most Ghanaian players have to put a stop to it because it’s a curse to neglect someone who played a vital role in one’s life.
