The team led by deputy minister of youth and sports, Hon. Perry Curtis Okudzeto arranged for the event at the Accra Sports Stadium.
127 lives were lost when Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko locked horns at the Accra Sports Stadium on May 9, 2001.
The event which saw Hearts of Oak beat Asante Kotoko 2-1; Ishmael Addo scored brace to render Lawrence Adjei’s goal just as a consolation.
The mini celebration becomes the 19th edition since the unfortunate event.
