Member of Parliament for Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Ama Pomaa Boateng has made a donation of GH¢70,000.00 to her constituency in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
The legislator donated relief items worth GH¢50,000.00 to support his constituents in the fight against the pandemic.
She donated 4,200 pieces of washing soaps, 4050 antiseptics, 4500 sanitizers, 4000 pieces of towels, 3600 bags of rice and bottles of oil, 200 Veronica buckets, 100 metal stands and other Personal Protective Equipments.

The items were handed over to the electoral area coordinators, assembly members and unit committee members to ease in distribution.
The Westminster University graduate also donated GH¢20,000.00 to a Covid-19 Fund that she has created for her constituency to aid the vulnerable and health workers in the constituency to fight against the pandemic.
During the presentation, Hon. Ama Pomaa Boateng who is also an IT Consultant revealed the rationale behind the Covid-19 Fund that she has established for he constituency by stating that the Fund is to aid health workers and the vulnerable in the constituency since the Coronavirus cases in Ghana keep increasing each and every day.
She urged the constituents to adhere to all the directives from the government as the country continues the Coronavirus fight.
Though the Juaben Constituency is not part of those under lockdown, she tasked her team to intensify education in their various communities on preventive measures.

Coronavirus cases in Ghana
The Ghana Health Service has announced that the country cases of the pandemic has jumped to 641 with 83 recovered.
Their statement reads, “As of 14th April 2020, at 23:00HRS, a total of 50,719 persons have been tested with 641 being positive for COVID-19. The breakdown of the 641 positive cases are as follows: seventeen (17) have been treated, reverted to negative on repeat tests and discharged. Furthermore, 66 have tested negative once and awaiting second test. This brings together a total of 83 cases that have been recovered / discharged. 548 cases have been categorised as mild disease and are on treatment, two (2) are categorized as moderate to severe cases, none in critical state currently and eight (8) have died.

“The five (5) new cases were recorded in the following locations; one from Adenta Municipality and two (2) each from Ayawaso East and Ayawaso Central Municipalities. With the exception of one of the cases from Ayawaso East, all the new cases are asymptomatic. Contacts of the new cases are being listed for follow up.

“Of the 641 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 268 were reported from two from the routine surveillance, 258 from enhanced surveillance activities and 115 from travellers who were previously under mandatory quarantine in Accra and Tamale.
“Regions that have reported cases are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, Eastern, Western, Volta, Northern, North East, Upper East, and Upper West regions.
