MTN Foundation Ghana has invested over fifty million Ghana cedis in one hundred and fifty-seven projects.
According to the leading network providers, a sum of Gh¢57.3m has been invested in the 157 social impact projects and extra Gh¢4m directly and indirectly on the lives of Ghanaians nationwide.
Speaking at the 2021 MTN Media Forum for Southern West Business District at the Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi on Monday, September 13, 2021, the Corporate Service Executive for MTN Ghana, Sam Koranteng stated that the 157 projects covers areas of education, healthcare and economic empowerment.[ads4]
He said that 87 are educational projects, 52 are healthcare projects and 13 are economic empowerment projects.
Mr. Koranteng explained that in the area of education, the MTN Ghana Foundation has built ICT centers, libraries, classroom and dormitory blocks, scholarships, springboards and the Heroes of Change initiative.
In the area of healthcare, he said that the Foundation has constructed hospitals and healthcare centers, wards and maternity blocks, surgeries and equipment, CHPs compounds among others.
Explaining what the Foundation has done for Ghanaians as part of their corporate social responsibilities in economic empowerment, Sam Koranteng said his outfit has engaged in micro enterprises, youth development initiatives in Suhum and Nsawam, women empowerment in Shea butter and oil palm, KNUST Telecom funding, ICT incubation, Ghana Multimedia Incubation Center.
He told the media that the Foundation has also invested in other projects such as y’ello care, a staff volunteer programme, and blood donation exercises which have raised over 9560 pints.
Meanwhile, the company has objected to help the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises with affordable connectivity.[ads3]
This, according to Sam Koranteng, forms part of their amazing packages to businesses in the country in 2022.
Though the company has launched various campaigns to accelerate the growth of small businesses, it has endeavour to offer incredible packages to businesses next year.
The affordable connectivity package, according to Mr. Koranteng, is t create more awareness on how small businesses can use the power of technology to enhance the management of their business and to their business’ competitiveness in the context of a regional and global marketplace.
As part of their focus for 2022, hhhe said the company has targeted to be the digital enabler of small and medium enterprises in Ghana by enabling these businesses on the digital journey and to provide them digital communication solutions as well as provide apps and platforms for productivity.
Considered as one of the one-stop solution providers, MTN has stipulated to partner SMEs Support Organization and leverage solutions and channel platforms for businesses.
