2009 MTN Soccer Academy winner Arago Jamal has arrived in Ghana with the Lone Stars of Liberia ahead of an lnternational Friendly against the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Arago won the reality show in 2009 and later joined the youth academy of Dutch side FC Twente.
He has previously had stints with Atromitos in Greece, Kosovan Club Gjilani, AC Kajaani in Finland, Prishtina, Drita , Sabail and Ohod in Saudi Arabia
Born in Ghana, Arago is of Liberian descent through a grandmother.
The 30- year old debuted for the Liberia national team in a 2–0 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification loss to Nigeria on 13 November 2021.
He is part of a 35-man contingent that arrived in Accra at 4:30am via Royal Air Maroc Arlines.
The Black Stars of Ghana defeated Central African Republic 2-1 to secure a ticket to the next Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire for the 10th Consecutive time while the Lone Stars of Liberia failed to qualify after finishing third in their Group.
