Ransford Osei, former Ghana Under 20 World Cup winner, claims that former Ghanaian striker Prince Tagoe was awarded his World Cup spot.
Ransford Osei who was a pivotal player for the Black Satellites during their World Cup victory, claims that another player was awarded his original spot for the 2010 World Cup.
In an interview, the ex- Asante Kotoko player said “When the 2010 World Cup calls up came, I was not part so I called Fred Acheampong and asked him why am I not part of the squad, he said randy said I was young and I have more years ahead of me so I should let prince Tagoe have a chance.That means it was my slot that was given to prince Tagoe all because somethings did not add up”
In 2021, Ransford Osei declared that he would not permit any of his children to represent the Ghana national teams.
After placing second to Nigeria’s Macauley Chrisantus at the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in the goal scoring chart with seven goals, Ransford Osei caught the attention of the football community. Real Madrid previously monitored Ransford Osei during his trials with Manchester City.
Before he retired from active football, Ransford Osei played for a few teams, including Fc Twente, Granada, Maccabi Haifa, and Bloemfontein Celtics.
