The President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, Mr. Samson Deen has paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Luton town in England Cllr Mahmood Hussain.
The visit forms part of Ghana’s preparations towards the upcoming Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham next year.
The Mayor gave the team a very warm reception and assured the President Luton’s readiness to host the Paralympic team of Ghana ahead of the games in Birmingham next year.
He said that, “Luton is a hospitable place, has people of many ethnic groups and languages and as such can easily co-exist with the Ghana delegation who will be based in Luton to prepare for the game.”[ads1]
Cllr Maria Lovell, a former Mayor of Luton who is of Ghanaian descent said she hoped the co operation between the two parties will go a long way to help develop and sell Paralympics in Ghana and Luton as well as the United Kingdom.
The president of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, Mr Samson Deen was full of praise for the Mayor for the warm reception given to his delegation.
“My team from Ghana is overwhelmed with the warm reception given to us by the Mayor of Luton and I hope this relationship will be a long standing one for the benefit of both parties “.
Seasoned sports journalists Rockson Adjei-Yeboah of Fox FM, Patrick Osei Agyeman of Asempa Fm, Saddiq Adams Obama of Angel FM and Owuraku Amofa of Joy FM were part of the delegation to Luton for the Mayor’s meeting with the president of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana.[ads4]
After the meeting with the Mayor of Luton, the president of the national Paralympic Committee of Ghana, Mr Samson Deen with his delegation visited the Inspire Luton sports village where the Paralympic team will train during their stay in Luton ahead of the games and was convinced the facilities available were enough to help the athletes to prepare for the games.
