The Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Peter Yaw Kwakye-Ackah has been defeated in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Hon Kwakye-Ackah lost the parliamentary primaries to business mogul Joana Gyan Cudjoe who is also the wife of Keche Joshua of Keche Music Group fame.
Joana Gyan Cudjoe amassed 756 votes to win the election over Peter Yaw Kwakye-Ackah who bagged 575 votes.
Other contestants were Paul Appiah who had 73 votes while Dr Karl Mark Arhin and Elijah Jones Appiah had 39 and 2 votes respectively.
