Eric Afful has been retained as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Amenfi West in the Western Region.
The incumbent lawmaker defeated competitor George Dadzie Jnr in the parliamentary race during the party’s primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Eric Afful amassed 791 votes as against George Dadzie Jnr who had 537 votes.
In all 1,328 delegates voted with six rejected ballots.
Meanwhile, Jomoro MP Dorcas Toffey has also been retained as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the 2024 general elections.
The incumbent MP retained the slot during the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Dorcas Toffey had 1,574 of the total votes to defeat her competitor Francis Ackatia Kwaidoo who accumulated 175 votes.
In the presidential race, John Dramani Mahama bagged 1,721 votes while Kojo Bonsu and Dr Kwabena Duffour had 3 and 15 votes respectively.
