Asante Kotoko’s former chief, Herbert Mensah has led a team of donors to donate some items to support Muslim Community in Kumasi.
The donation was part of celebrations to mark the 2001, May 9 disaster which claimed 127 lives in a game involving Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.

Herbert Mensah who’s currently serving as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Rugby Association posited that a team including the chief Iman, Sheik Nuhu Shaributu was expected to leave Accra to do the donation at Kumasi, but the Covid-19 Pandemic didn’t permit them.
However, Kind Edward, a team member since the 2001 incident led a team to do the donation. He is a senior broadcast journalist with Despite Group subsidiary Hello FM in Kumasi,
“We’ve always celebrated with all religions, but it is centered around many ways, this year the Muslims are celebrating their Ramadan.
“We were suppose to present the items with the Chief Imam, but the Covid-19 didn’t permit us. One team member, King Edward led the donation.
